Columbus 2 TFC 2 - This is what You Get when You Blink for a Fraction of a Second

By: Sam | Comments 5 Comments

Scorers:
CLB- Herron 2′
TFC- Dichio 27′
CLB- Herron 36′
TFC- Brennan 49′
Analysis:
What a disappointment. If anyone disagrees with the fact that Toronto definitely could have come away with three points, I invite you to state why. In this first away game after scoring and winning, I felt for the whole game like a goal was coming, and in […]

Cunning Cunningham Arrives, Pesky Esky Departs

By: Sam | Comments 5 Comments

That Mo Johnston really digs trades. The latest, as you may have heard on Ian’s , is one hell of a big one that sends fan favourite Alecko Eskandarian and a first-round draft pick to Salt “Party Central” Lake in exchange for last year’s Golden Boot winner Jeff Cunningham.
What do I think of this […]

TFC and Benfica Play to a Draw (Hey, it Wasn’t Entirely Their Reserve Squad)

By: Sam | Comments 7 Comments

There it is, folks, our first international friendly. All those fools, focused on the Champions League final when Toronto FC and Benfica were duking it out at BMO Field. Don’t you just pity them? I sure do. I mean, who wants to see the so-anticipated match two years after the famous Istanbul game when you […]

If You don’t vote for Toronto Players on MLSnet, You’re Liable to Die one Day

By: Sam | Comments 3 Comments

It’s true, so might as well support everyone’s favourite club. Here’s who to vote for.
Goalkeeper: Greg Sutton
Defenders: Adam Braz, Jimmy Brennan, Marco Reda, Marvell Wynne
Midfielders: Kevin Goldthwaite, Maurice Edu, Ronnie O’Brien, Carl Robinson, Andy Welsh
Strikers: Danny Dichio, Alecko Eskandarian
That’s all there is to it. I was going to tell you to vote for Andy Welsh’s […]

TFC 1 DC United 2: Predictable Enough For Ya?

By: Sam | Comments 1 Comment

Scorers:
TFC- Eskandarian 44′
DC- Goldthwaite (OG) 53′
DC- Moreno 79′
Analysis:
How dominated were we for 90% of this game? If I had to say, I’d say “pretty dominated”. Sure, we lost, and sure, the two goals were unfortunate, but it could have been 10-1 if DC had gotten the bright idea to get into the penalty area at […]

Toronto FC Fans: We Are Just That Hardcore

By: Sam | Comments 2 Comments

After three games at BMO, four if you count the Canadian U-20s, a senior official for the club has said that emergency repairs will be conducted at the stadium, after finding a bolt or two on the floors resulting of the thumping and jumping going on everywhere. Yeah. Poorly constructed, perhaps, wicked-ass fans, definitely.

TFC 1 Houston 0: Dynamo? More Like “Two-Game Winning Streak, Fools! Bwahaha!”

By: Sam | Comments 2 Comments

Scorers:
TFC- Welsh 25′
Analysis:
How’s that? Two game-winning streak, the latest at the expense of the defending champs and the likes of Brian Ching and Dwayne De Rosario. On a very rainy night, with the supporters braving the weather, Toronto brought it offensively, but moreso defensively. Sutton was impeccable, picking up his first clean sheet, but how […]

TFC 3 Chicago 1: We’ll Piss On That Fire, Thanks A Whole Lot

By: Sam | Comments 4 Comments

Scorers:
TFC- Dichio 24′
CHI- Rolfe 36′
TFC- Goldthwaite 51′
TFC- Edu 75′
Analysis:
Two words: We won. Remember the name, remember the date, as said Nigel Reed… Not only did we win, but we did it convincing fashion, taking out the mighty (perhaps overconfident?) Chicago Fire in our fifth ever game. Lots to to talk about after this one: Seat-cover […]

Toronto Announces Friendlies, And They Are Glorious

By: Sam | Comments 1 Comment

Glorious in the Aston-Villa-And-Benfica-like sense. Yes, I realize it won’t be the best those two clubs have to offer, but it’ll still be mighty fun. The Portuguese will make their way to TO on May 23, which is only two weeks away. Villa will waltz in two months later, on July 25. Anything else to […]

Guevara Trade Denied, Rumours Are Sending De Rosario Toronto’s Way, This Is Getting Mighty Silly

By: Sam | Comments 8 Comments

Intrigued are David and I about this supposed Guevara-to-TFC deal that may or may not have happened, and it just got more intriguing. The Red Patch Boys forum has been the center of this hearsay, with Toronto FC’s Director of Business Operations, Paul Beirne stating that Guevara wasn’t coming, but not ruling out the possibility […]
