Toronto FC’s Eh-to-Zed Open Thread: June 2007

Hey hey hey all you Toronto fans. I’ve decided to have a new instalment on the blog, that of the monthly A-Z (if you didn’t get my hilarious Canada joke in the title) Open Thread on the Toronto FC Offside. Every month I’ll fire you a vague question to which you crazy kids will answer, answer and answer again, thus creating the debate to end all debates. Good idea? Bad idea?

Anywho, here’s topic question number one, pretty straightforward as topic questions go:

Who has been Toronto FC’s best player so far this year?

As far as I see it, I’d say Jimmy Brennan for sure. The guy is a bloody brick wall, especially in the last bunch of games. He’s always a presence, and don’t get me started on his tackling.

  Yeah, Dichio also rox ur sox. Think he’ll get on the all-star team? I thought it was hilarious on that episode of Extra Time when they showed half the TFC team was on course to being picked.

  It made me barf when I found out the pitch is synthetic. Players tackle and slide less and the ball just dies on the fake stuff.
  When Toronto played their first home game. My backyard was lush green with healthy strong grass, without any maintenance. So dont tell me its the climate. Its the idiots a BMO who dont want to pay for a grass crew. Way to ruin are team. Plus the boring red colour sucks. Why are we modelling are team on English soccer. We better get some south americans or we’re doomed.

  chief - no, he won’t, at least I don’t think so. He wore #74 all of last season, so as I gather he changes every season, but exceptionally he changed when he was traded.

  skillz - haha, yeah, turf sucks. And it’s funny you said that about South Americans, because at the start of the season we had Cancela and Nagamura who were gonna be our rockin’ ass 1-2 punch, but now we can say we have Canizales, who is half-latino I guess. And for the record, I LIKE THE SHIRTS!

  Yeah well Dichio is the one who’s definitely going to make the all-star team…

  Speaking of which, which players would you say actually deserve to be on the team? I’d say Brennan and O’Brien. Dichio is super good, but then again there’s Twellman, Angel and Johnson, to name a few that are better.
