It’s time again for the annual Carolina Challenge Cup. The Toronto FC squad are currently in Charlston, South Carolina participating in their final preseason tournament before the 2011 season kicks off. Usually I’m hoping for news about TFC anytime. Such is my luck that it ends up being bad news. It seems that Adrian Cann, our 30 year old Canadian centreback that joined TFC just last year, has left training camp in South Carolina and headed back to Toronto. Read the rest of this entry »

On Saturday night, Toronto FC faced off against Orlando City in the 3rd place match of the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. What is there that I can really say about this game? It was dull with some pretty woeful football and we ended up losing 1-0 with the goal being scored by Orlando’s player-coach. Player-coach! Toronto FC have released the full roster of players that are in Turkey to train and take part in preseason friendlies.
Preseason has officially kicked off with our current roster of players reporting to BMO Field on Tuesday and facing the media on Wednesday. Half the team seemed to be available for the press conference, answering various generic questions on how they feel about new management and if their contract status has been cleared up. It may be a bit silly, but I love seeing the players together again before a new season starts. I start remembering the players I liked from the previous season and then get excited seeing new players come in. Not to mention, it feels like we have more of a direction this season and we have a bit of stability unlike previous years. Read the rest of this entry »
