Cunningham and O’Brien Out for the Rest of the Season

By: Sam | August 22nd, 2007

broken-leg.jpgJust fricking brilliant, that’s really all we needed. Nine games left, playoff hopes all but abandoned, now we get to cope with the news that our all-star midfielder is out for a few months with a torn meniscus (?) in his right knee and our veteran striker’s sports hernia was treated wrong and now we have to suffer the consequences.

Mo still maintains there’s lots of talent in the locker room, and that the playoffs are a legit goal to shoot for. I’m not as optimistic.

This sucks.

Mo overestimated his talent early in the season, made some much needed changes, but really screwed up when he traded Goldwaithe, and signed Samuels. These two moves remind one of the reasons he got fired from New York. Mo may not be the genius everyone here makes him out to be.
