TFC “very close” to signing T&T’s Collin Samuel, Cunningham all alone against Revs?
By: Sam | June 20th, 2007
TFC blogs have been talking about it lately… The red and white are missing a critical amount of strikers going into their Saturday game against the Revolution at Gilette Stadium. Andrea Lombardo is off with the U-20s and Danny Dichio, while stating that he’s feeling much better, is nursing an ankle sprain that he suffered against Dallas.
Suppose Dichio’s not playing. What of Cunningham? Does he play alone? Do we bring in Abbe Ibrahim? As for Ibrahim, I wouldn’t mind seeing him play but I’m not entirely sure what his situation is legally, as he had visa problems earlier for Canada, and I haven’t heard of him much since. What would you do if you were Mo?
Now, I’ve only just head of this, there’s not much about this on the internet yet, I think. Striker Collin Samuel, member of Trinidad and Tobago’s World Cup squad, has been training with the boys for the past week, and could sign a contract within the week. Mo said he’d been following the former Dundee United man for months on end. Anyone know more about this?

I have to say Samuel never really impressed me at United, but Scotland is sometimes a pretty physically rough place to play - he certainly has a decent touch when he’s in form, so he could do okay in MLS.

I was under the impression that Samuel is all set to sign for the club save for immigration issues.

Still no follow-up from the official site. It may be immigration, but they didn’t mention anything.

Whoa. What? I guess he was, he’s no longer on the roster, but there was nothing about this on any website other than that.
Thanks for pointing that out, colman.Posted from
