TFC leaves Sunrise with sunshine in their hearts

By: Sam | February 23rd, 2007

buddle.jpgFive wins and a loss is the final tally for Toronto FC’s visit to Florida to train for the upcoming season, their first. Capping off the successful trip was a 3-2 win over Lynn University’s side Friday.

Former Red Bull Edson Buddle took care of business, scoring three goals in no more than 13 minutes in the first half. Ha, Martha, so he can hit the net! LU’s two goals came in the second half against young invitee keeper Jean-Paul Piques guarding the net for TFC.

Overall, it looks as if Toronto had a good spell in Sunrise et al, and now are packing up to return to Ontario for a few weeks, and are back in Eff Ell on March 5 in Bradenton.

Woo! Sixteen goals for, four against, even though I understand they weren’t world class teams, but an encouraging debut for the brand-new Red and White.
