Beckham to debut in Toronto? Prepare to get pwned!

It’s been “determined” that it’s “likely” that David Beckham “could” play his “first” match on American soil on Canadian soil. When the LA Galaxy come into town to arouse the grizzly that is TFC on August 5, it seems that Becks’ contract at Real Madrid favours the idea that that game would be his first wearing the (possibly) green and gold.

What does this mean? Well,
-Americans will be miffed about the delicious irony about “David Beckham’s grand arrival in the USA”.
-The Globe & Mailwill try to make it seem like they care and print a few pictures of signs such as “Welcome Becks” and “We love David, eh?”.
-Beckham will try to state a basic fact about Canada to show his amazing cultural competence.
-He won’t score.
-Toronto FC will recieve publicity all around the world. Yum!
-Laurie and I will have the blog showdown to end all blog showdowns.
-TFC will beat the living hell out of LA.

For now, it seems like a good thing, assuming Toronto wins, which they obviously will, I mean, we have Ronnie O’Brien, who should’ve won Person of the Century!

But at least until there’s something to confirm this story, it’ll just be another Beckham this Beckham that article.

  It would be awesome if Becks’ first game in MLS would be at BMO Field. More importantly I just hope he is there and playing in the August 5th game. My friends did not want to invest in season tickets so I am relying on getting tickets for this game on April 9th when single game tickets go an sale. I have email addy’s and the direct phone numbers for 3 employees of Toronto FC. Hopefully I am able to get some tickets to this game.
