BREAKING NEWS: MLS Referees are NOT the Worst!
By: Colman | July 17th, 2008
I’m in a pissy mood. Last night, I was sent off in my house league game by an incompetent idiot of a referee. I want to vent here but I obviously don’t play in MLS.
- Player on opposite team takes throw, his foot comes about 30 cm off the ground.
- Me: “Foul throw!” (Everyone stops play because it was so obvious) Ref doesn’t stop play, and our defender kicks the ball back out.
- Me: “Ref his foot was a mile up in the air”
- Ref: *chuckles* “well that would be pretty amazing.”
- Me: “It was pretty amazing, how did you not call it??”
- Ref: *holds up his yellow card waist high, as though he is handing it to me, then writes nothing down* “I’m the ref, why don’t you let me call the game.”
- Me: *walking away* “Well why don’t you”
- Ref: *holds up his yellow card waist high again* “Second!”
He appears not to have brought his red card with him, at least he doesn’t show it to me. He also doesn’t seem to write anything down, so who knows if he even got my number, but I duly left the field and drove off. Wanker. I didn’t swear or raise my voice. He did not lecture me at all, but instead went straight to his cards. Surely what I said was not enough to warrant being sent off. Talk about having no control of the game. And what a miserable call. Most obvious foul throw in history. The most annoying thing about this is that I’m a Class 3 referee, which is one level higher than that tool. Oh well.

ahahahha man same this happened today in the Greece game today. U-19s vs. Czech U-19 in the UEFA Championships. Sotiris Ninis sent off for a similar incident.
After the game I check the UEFA site and I come across this article: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/keytopics/kind=524288/newsid=732999.html
I don’t know what the hell is going on with these UEFA hotshots, but they know absolute shit.

“We’ve been coming together as a group, there’s been some good bonding here.”
Umm…that’s cute guys. Now get back to refereeing please.
