Guevara Trade Denied, Rumours Are Sending De Rosario Toronto’s Way, This Is Getting Mighty Silly

By: Sam | May 3rd, 2007

dwayne.jpgIntrigued are David and I about this supposed Guevara-to-TFC deal that may or may not have happened, and it just got more intriguing. The Red Patch Boys forum has been the center of this hearsay, with Toronto FC’s Director of Business Operations, Paul Beirne stating that Guevara wasn’t coming, but not ruling out the possibility of some wierd three-way deal that would have DDR going northbound. I won’t elaborate until I get my hands on something official, which is just as likely as winning the lottery, but this could be something big.

    De Rosario would certainly be a huge step up from Guevara. Frankly, you guys dodged a bullet there. I like De Rosario, and I think he’d be great in Toronto, but you’ll have to pay for him.

    Yeah, well every person in Canada would give their right eye for a guy like him. So within reason, I think that money is no object.

    Why would Houston want to get rid of De Rosario?

    Bob- that’s reason #34869436 why this rumour is on the unbelieveable side. But hey, I’m not complaining.

    With the way things are going, anything is possible. We are pretty much still in the dark as to what is going to happen.

    But if there is a three way trade, what is going to be used?

    Just for fun, mull this over:

    Guevara -> Dallas

    El Pescadito -> Houston

    DeRo -> Toronto

    Chivas’ 1st round 2009 pick -> Toronto

    Toronto’s DP -> Chivas

    WE would have to pay for DeRo but the price might be to high if he is unsettled in Houston and looking for something new. TFC needs quality players but need time for the team to gel, look for the team to take all 3 points against the Fire
