It’s a wrap: Eskey the key as Toronto win their last game in Florida
By: Sam | March 14th, 2007
Two days of training remain for Toronto FC before they take a break and depart for Charleston where they will be competing in the Carolina Challenge Cup, against the hometown Charelston Battery, the New York Red Bulls and the Houston Dynamo. They capped off their set of exhibition matches in Bradenton and Sunrise on a good note, disposing of the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 3-0.
Alecko Eskandarian converted the penalty that he was awarded right from the get-go, which would be the only goal of the half. José Cancela scored a free-kick in the second to put TFC up by a pair. Eskey assisted on Paulo Nagamura’s shot that put the game away at three-nil.
After that series of very, very unofficial matches, Toronto has looked solid on paper with an 8-1-1 record. Note: 24 goals for and 4 against.
