Open Thread: Your Thoughts On The First Four Games

picture-9.jpgLet’s start the debate and discussions to end all debate and discussions.
Quite simply, I want to know what you think about the team, the coach, the players, the stadium, the performances, the future, the competition, the fans, everything. TFC’s on everyone’s mind, so spill it out, and let’s keep it clean in the comments.

Its just the expansion team blues…it happens in all sports all. Toronto has the foundation of a good club: great stadium, good fans, and solid players. They just have to find the right formula to put it all together, playing defense would be a good way to start.

I’m curious about the general reaction in Canada - it seems from the enthusiasm, Toronto was a great place for expansion. Could we see more MLS teams elsewhere in Canada soon? Do they get much national attention?

Tom - Vancouver’s team in the USL First Division has always drawn well too. It is a city that is ripe for an MLS team. The Whitecaps are working on building a new downtown stadium . Montreal also averages 10,000+ for their USL team and they also have stadium plans in place. Neither team’s ownership group has said they are interested in MLS, but those are two international cities with great soccer fanbases.

Interesting. It would be neat if Vancouver got an MLS team, and then Portland or Seattle did too. That might create a rivalry over there in the northwest. Bob, I’m sure you’re more of an expert on that possibility as well.

I’ve just decided to go to Toronto for the Fire game a week Saturday (if I can make the arrangements in time), so hopefully I’ll find out for myself about your team and stadium, Sam.
