TFC Daily Dose

By: nicholas | May 7th, 2008

Last week, i heard some rumblings, that MLSE was in talks with some unknown English club with the intention of purchasing. The rumor at the time was Tothenam, but that was quickly quashed when MLSE was no where near there bid of 150 mil, while there asking price of 500 million ( not 100% on that number). After there initially failed bid, they turned there trip into a fact finding mission, about how to run TFC better. ( talk about political spin)

Fast forward to this week and now we are hearing about MLSE interest in Sheffield Wednesday. In my personal opinion this would be a good club for MLSE to invest in for many reason’s:

1. They will be able to invest at the ground level before the big money signings are necessary to compete in the premiership;

2. They will be able to rearrange business practices that govern the club, in order to maximize profits ( lets be serious the one thing that MLSE can do is make money)

3. Sheffield Wednesday already has a huge following, therefore there is room for massive growth in terms of fan base.
