He’s a defensive midfielder — take a look at the problems TFC had defending a lead on Saturday, and you have your answer.
This team does not need offensive help. Ali Gerba can score. So can Dichio — Vitti (and now Barrett) are being better utilized as ‘creative’ playmakers rather than simply strikers.
This is exactly what TFC needs but, the deal is off the table according to various media reports.
Too bad. It would have been a great move.

River Plate is an A-team in South America (that really sucked last year).
But it’s a fact that they did play their reserves (or B-team) in a meaningless match (for them) last week against TFC.
TFC could not beat them says a lot about the MLS “A”-team.

It was a TFC B-team just as well amigo.

Ah! OK.
Ali Gerba (new aquisition, future forward star)
Dwayne De Rosario
Amado Guevara
Chad Barrett
Marco Velez

blaz perez is the prototypical target striker… and Toronto fc already has two in gerba and dichio and even barret in a pinch…. Toronto fc has so little dept in crucial positions such as left back, center back and central midfield and prob another striker who can also play on the wing .. or simply and out and out winger.

signing sol campbell is a great idea, but you’d better hurry – he’s off to join sven in rgw bargain basement league two

Sol just decided he didn’t want to play at such a low level, so he’s available again

It looks like you can bid on autographed game-worn pink jerseys on ebay. Right now they are around $150 US each. Some of the jerseys are from the June 24 match where they also wore pink.
The auction closes on October 19. Here’s the url: http://members.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=team_up_pink

Nothing good ever happened in pink jerseys.

From what I hear, the players have stopped listening to Cummins. Apparently he told the players to push up in the last few minutes and they never did.
It seems like this team needs a whole culture shakeup

I think it became pretty clear that Cummins wasn’t the right person for the job after his first couple of games as head coach. I can’t stand how often he changes the lineup. I think the team needs time to gel with a consistent starting 11. One that doesn’t include Chad Barrett. But yeah, something big has to change. I hate to think of getting rid of some of the players, but maybe its time to build the team around DeRo and de Duzman and jettison everyone else for next season. A new coach with MLS experience is also a must.

Oh yeah, Laurie? Ever heard of Palermo FC?

Well, obviously that didn’t work. Real Salt Lake won 2-0. Red Bulls, my temporary fanship is now over. See you on October 24 against TFC.

Mark you were doomed before the start, asking the red bulls to win on the road is like asking your gf for a threesome…you could ask but the likelihood of it happening are slim to none…

True, true. Hopefully asking them to lose at home will be a little more realistic next time.

Seattle agrees: Stupid Red Bulls.

Well, both DC United and FC Dallas won tonight as well, so it looks like we’re now sitting in 9th place, with Dallas in 8th because they have 1 more win than Toronto. So the task for TFC next week is to beat New York (last in the league), and get some help from our friends in Seattle, Columbus and Kansas City to beat or draw the 3 other teams with 39 points. That’s not too much to ask for is it?

that is just absolutly amazing making that banner. wish people did that in NY

So basically what you want is for Seattle to knock off Dallas?
I do believe this will require a sacrifice to the footy deities.

Hmm… I’ll see what I can come up with Laurie.

The key is growth margins went in the right direction, unit volume increased quarter on quarter, and expenses came down. We threw off over $300 million in cash. All of those were in the right direction. So I think we’re on our way.

Preki just left Chivas?
Is it too much to ask for Toronto and get a seasoned MLS coach
who will command respect because he also played in the league?Posted from
