By: nicholas | July 6th, 2008

If you were unaware, that TFC actually had a game yesterday. Put up your hands up in the air, don’t be shy and now look to your left and then to your right, if you actually have anyone beside you, i can guarantee that both hands are up or at least one of them is up.

Well TFC actually played yesterday against the current Superliga champs Pachuca. For the fans of TFC out there Pachuca is pretty big in Mexico.

Thanks for posting the vids … I like Pachuca, so I wish I could’ve seen that game.

Funny, in the youtube vid, that the TFC rowdies are yelling “who are ya!”

Pachuca has been the class of the Mexican league the last 5 years or so. Its players are big down there.

The more correct and appropriate chant would have been: “Excuse us our ignorance about Mexican soccer!! But do you mind our asking who you would in fact be? !!!!”

All respect to TFC fans, by far the best in MLS.

Also, that TFC lost on penalty kicks is reminiscent of last year’s Superliga final between the LA Galaxy and Pachuca, one of the best games ever played at LA’s Home Depot Center. Galaxy also lost on pk’s - Donovan choked, then Xavier did, kicking the ball practically out of the stadium.

first of all… if you’re a supporter, or a solid fan, you’d know there was a game on Saturday… If you didn’t then you probably don’t follow your team very closely. OSweet… I followed Mexican football when i lived down there. Pachuca is solid but they’re not that great. They’re popularity is nowhere near Chivas or Pumas nor is their consistency or quality of play. The reference to ‘Who are you’ has nothing to do with the supporters not knowing who Pachuca is. Its a chant from the UK and used to humiliate and call-out opposing team players, especially when they screw up in front of the net. Also you can’t really fault people up here for not know who Pachuca is since Mexican football gets very little coverage in Canada.

Our boys played a solid game against a team that is still trying to find its legs before they start their Premiere season. The only criticism I have about our team is that we’re still very weak on the striking front. We need a constant threat in front of the net much like Dichio provides when he’s playing at full health.

Chivas suck by the way and if you truley knew anything about the team then you would know that Chivas do not allow anyone that is not Mexican nationality play on their team. Pachuca on the other hand does and they give back more to the comunity than any other team oh and not just in Mexico they do soccer camps for kids here in the United States. Pachuca rocks not only on the feild but also off. Know more about popularity before you speak out.

Club Pachuca does give back more to its community than any other team I know of. They have a program that comes on every Friday and a replay on Sundays. It called Tuzsoccer and it really keeps you informed as well as the web site tuzostv.com - Go ahead a take a look. They are not only the FIRST team of Mexico they are the first team in many people’s hearts. They are humanitarians and the best.
