Toronto FC @ Kansas City Wizards LiveBlog

By: Sam | April 25th, 2007

Well, guess what. I just got the idea to try my hand at LiveBlogging. Let’s see what happens. I know this is short notice so there won’t be any big discussions, but please let me know if you like my liveblogging and if you think I should continue to do it in the future. Gracias.

FULL TIME: Well, that’s that. 3-0. Shitty. I’ll be back with the recap later tonight. Thanks.

87th minute: Boyens gets his head on another, over the bar again. Toronto are waking up. A little late? I fear so. (Rolls eyes)

85th minute: A little more from Esky. His shot hits a defender and it’s a corner. Boyens heads it off target.

83rd minute: Great chance for Eskandarian, who gets a good shot off that’s saved by Hartman. Nothing doing on the corner.

80th minute: Harrington comes off for Raybould. Great match from the former.

78th minute: Goldthwaite slips n’ slides into a KC player. The boys in blue are lobbying for a booking. Nope, but it was reckless as hell.

72nd minute: Good work from Esky. Robinson puts the shot wide. Marco Reda is going out as Boyens enters the match.

70th minute: God dammit. Three-nil. Movsisyan. His first MLS goal comes after good work from the midfield, and a little generosity from the defense lets him sneak in and plaster this game up right proper.

68th minute: Welsh is booked. I disagree. Arnaud went down a little too easy to my liking. Canizales is coming for Edu, who I think played great.

66th minute: Marinelli is booked, he pushed the Toronto defender from behind quite clearly.

62nd minute: Good stuff from Toronto. Esky gets some work done, Edu does some at the top of the box, and Robinson gets a weak shot that Hartman gets it easily.

61st minute: Marinelli corner, Conrad’s header hits the bar. Welsh goes the other way straight away and finds Hartman.

58th minute: GREAT save by Sutton. Johnson touches Marinelli’s cross perfectly, but Greg is out to meet him.

55th minute: Goal Wizards. Christ. Zavagnyn gets a gimme after Sutton makes two saves. No chance for the keeper, but what the hell were our defense up to? KC 2-0 TFC

54th minute: Movsysian comes in for Victorine, who had a decent showing.

52nd minute: Scramble in KC’s area. Buddle finally gets a weak shot off that Hartman picks up easily.

51st minute: Robinson wastes it completely. Way wide.

50th minute: Jewsbury is booked on Welsh for grabbing him as he went down. Just outside the penalty area.

47th minute: Edson Buddle takes a quick shot from 25 yards out that’s blocked and jumped on by Hartman.

HALFTIME: Really really rainy here. Kansas City was dominating completely in the first half of the half, but Toronto got a few chances back in the last fifteen minutes. I’ll be back.

44th minute: A dozen seconds of danger in the KC area. Garcia puts it into corner. Goldthwaite takes it, nothing comes.

42nd minute: Johnson works the magic, goes up against three defenders, but Goldthwaite comes in with a great tackle.

41st minute: Corner to Toronto. Robinson takes it, it’s punched away by Hartman. Esky takes a shot that goes wide.

39th minute: Johnson goes the other way, cleared by the defense. What’s this now? A little alcteration between Eskandarian and Conrad, but nothing special.

38th minute: Esky goes solo on a counter-attack. Nothing doing, he meets the defense.

35th minute: Corner for KC. Burciaga heads it down, Victorine blasts wide. It’s all KC so far.

34th minute: Nagamura is booked. Accidental forearm to the face.

34th minute: Goldthwaite puts his shot 2386798275 miles over the net. This after a good run by Welsh, who’s looking mighty fine tonight.

31th minute: More Harrington. Good cross for Victorine, who puts his header over the bar.

28th minute: Esky commits a naughty foul on Burciaga. Rightfully booked.

27th minute: Harrington gets a decent cross in, cleared by the Toronto defense.

25th minute: Good work from KC. Johnson is offside. Thankfully, because it could’ve resulted in a goal.

23rd minute: This intensely pro-KC commentary is horrible. God. Not just because they’re blatantly biased, but they don’t seem to know anything. Conrad gets an okay strike off, goal kick.

20th minute: Good run down the flank by Welsh. Finishes in the legs of a defender.

19th minute: Esky tempts the KC defense in the area. Buddle’s header attempt is too short. Close.

18th minute: Good combination with Esky and Edu, but that goes out for a goal kick. Bad conditions for long balls.

16th minute: Corner for FC, after Marinelli’s slippy shot slips out of Sutton’s slippy hands. The kick is struck by Johnson, wide.

15th minute: Chance for KC. Stopped by the TFC defense into touch.

12th minute:One-on-one against Sutton. Good job by the TFC keeper, who puts the ball into corner.

11th minute:Marinelli, on the counter-attack, gets a corner. Which ends up giving nothing.

10th minute:Weak free-kick from Marinelli. Easily parried by Sutton.

8th minute:Looks like Goldthwaite, Wynne and Edu are starting. Good.

5th minute: What the fuck? Excuse my language, but I just got the video feed, and Eddie Johnson scored in the second minute? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. TFC 0-1 KC

Use the force! Good luck with it. Wish I could stick around to join in, but I must jet. I’ll see what you come up with later.

Too bad, this is a sign of things to come for this squad I fear. Hope they can turn it around before the home opener on Sat.
