Toronto FC pre-season update #4
By: nicholas | February 16th, 2008
Soccer by Ives is reporting that Toronto fc is interested in Colombian play maker Johnnier Montano ( 25 years old ) . The only thing i could dig up on him was that he was that he was the youngest player to ever play for the Colombian national team ( at age 15) and that he had stints in Italy with Parma (1999) , Piacenza ( loan (2001-2002) and then Chievo Verona ( 2002-2003), he also had brief stints at America de Cali, Independent Medellin and Cortulua and finally had brief stints at sporting boys and Santos in Brazil.
Montano is set to join Toronto’s training camp in Bradenton, Florida in the coming days with an eye toward potentially becoming Toronto FC’s first signing off the off-season
Toronto FC won there first game of the pre -season with a 2-0 win over the WIZ of kasas city. The two goals were scored by wonder kid Maurice Edu.

Hmmm can’t say I know much about Montano either. Good to see Mo scoring though!

Montano is 25; Dutch left winger Kiki Musampa (formerly of Man City, among others) is also in camp.

Montano is really, really fast and not much else if I remember correctly.
Musampa could be a good signing though, if he’s not a DP that is.

The Wiki site is wrong; every other source, including soccernet, lists him as 25.
